Thousands of people list riding a camel as one of their life goals, but how many of us actually know something interesting about these amazing creatures?

Camels’ humps are not used to store water. Even though they come from hot climates, their humps store fat and also help the rest of their bodies to stay cooler. When needed, the fat will be converted to food or water.
The word ‘camel’ comes from an Arabic word when it’s literally translated, it means beauty. Don’t ever try and say that camels are ugly!
They need to stay hydrated in the desert, so it’s no surprise that camels can drink as much as 40 gallons of water at once. Considering it’s not being stored in their humps, that’s pretty amazing.

The milk from the camel can also be digested by humans straight from the camel, without boiling - unlike other types of animal milk. The hind legs also don’t technically have knees, but stifle joints. And the knees bend in the opposite way of the human knee. Camels also don’t just spit, but will
bite - HARD. They are also very strong and can pickup and throw an adult human with their teeth. Camels also have great memory. There has been stories of ppl falling asleep on their camel, and still found their way home. They also recognize faces. Btw... camel meat is healthy, and tastes very good. Be well.

They forgot to mention that the camel is the only animal that is able to recycle their urine several times getting all the nutrients and hydration they can before having to urinate (effective for desert conditions).
Their releasing step is also spring loaded from a strong tendon which cuts their efforts of walking/running by half (also effective for long desert journeys) & camels are the only animal whose red blood cells are cylindrical shaped rather than round, they will never get a blood clot.
