Thanks for sharing the truth, Nemo. I was once an active member of this organization, but have since resigned. Glad I left. After leaving, the lack of transparency really bothered me. Example, church reported at one time that it had 16 million members worldwide, but how many are actually attending weekly sacrament meetings ?

I'm so glad I found your channel, Nemo! I am a "never-Mo" who had studied Mormonism longer than you have been alive. I recently met with 4 elders who happened upon my door four times! The first time, one said, "You seem to know more about the church than WE do"! I loved on them by feeding them & sending them home with groceries & even gave them a ride home in the rain. Hopefully, I have also planted seeds of truth that will one day bear fruit. Each time they came back, I was shocked! I have taught them a lot they had never heard & they have never told me something I have shared is not true. None of the 4 that have been here had heard Joseph Smith shot several people at the jail in Carthage! I proved it from church sources... You are doing a great job, Nemo!

Ok, but I know for a fact that the church asked rich members to give money to prop 8. This one rich guy who has ties to church real estate and church freedom of religion committee was asked to give 15K!!!!

I live in Southern California and at that time all faithful members were assigned by local church priesthood leaders to either a) go door to door, b) work phone banks (calling people in our community) or stand at busy street corners with your family waving signs in favor of Prop 8. It was assigned by the "brethren" and expected that all active members in California were to vigorously participate in the month long push up until the vote. I KNOW this as I was serving in a stake position at the time and got pulled into it. Ironically I was serving as Stake Public Affairs director.

I feel like there is really no excuse for not having all of the real info they need when speaking about finances and growth numbers and other things. They all have secretaries and assistants and probably any other resources they could ever need to have these facts in order before they speak. It's sloppy and we should be able to expect better from those at the top. We would never accept less from our governments so why do religious leaders get any exceptions. They should be held to a high standard. Pres Nelson says they speak for God and God would be prepared. IMHO.

NEMO- Did you catch Elder and Sister Bednar's face-to-face fireside on September 12? It's on YouTube. They omitted a lot of concerns for young adults, included faith crises.

NEMO- 62 minimum changes just to the BM since 2013. 52 changes to the Bible. 22 changes to D & C. Four changes to PGP. Plus significant changes to the Bible Dictionary, Topical Guide, and introductory paragraphs. Mosiah 26 and changes to Alma are not included in the statement from the church website under "approved changes". The problem is by the early editions these textual errors should have be taken care of. The church and Deseret are not as big on selling Scriptures anymore. They used to have various colored covers and mostly offer black now in the 2013 edition. I doubt members know anything about these.

My mom a TBM told me that the church told her that if she didn't make political phone calls (or another type of support) to others asking them to support prop 8 that she would lose her membership to the church

NEMO- are you aware of any changes to the Book of Mormon since 2013? Example: Mosiah 26. My 2013 hard copy scriptures for the preface heading says at the end: "otherwise they shall be excommunicated". That is removed for the online BM on the church website and replaced with something else. I also learned the other day that Alma has had at least two textual changes between what we have in the 2013 hard copy version of scriptures versus what is online. Members will mostly not notice this since updates are not announced. They just appear in the online version on the church website.
