2024 Mazda CX-90. Now with even more recalls

We will be exploring the procedures and performing recalls on this 2024 Mazda CX-90. Recall 6624E which deals with warning lights and a check engine. And, recall or Special Service Program SSPD6 which deals with the VCM (Vehicle Control Module).
SSPD6 - 2024 CX-90 - Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns.
Unintentional warning or braking when backing up
When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera (VMC) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support (SBS) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual (screen display) and audible (warning sound), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases.

Driver recognition result is not displayed (on equipped vehicles)
The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” (non-personalized). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function.

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle
While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.
Dealer Announcement

Emissions Recall 6624E - 2024 CX-90 Master Warning Light and Check Engine Warning Light may turn on with DTC P0504:00: On certain CX-90 vehicles, when driving the vehicle on a downhill slope, keeping the foot on the brake pedal and lightly depressing the pedal many times, the Master Warning Light and Check Engine Warning Light may turn on with DTC P0504:00 stored in memory. Under such conditions, the failsafe mode is activated, and certain functions may be restricted. This condition will also continue until the vehicle is turned off. The repair will be reprogramming of the PCM, which will reprogram the PCM, ECM and TCM together with updated software via M-MDS, using MDARS. A TCM Re-learn will also be required. There are 33,054 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.

Do you own a 2024 Mazda CX-90? Have you done you're recalls?

Had the recalls all done on my 24 CX90 and also the grease service to the front end for the noise. It’s never run better and it’s a first year car, so going to have those type of stuff. My dealer is so amazing, and honestly it was a pleasure to get these services done. ✅

Say whatever but my dealer has been amazing making all the recalls and accepting the problems, with Chevrolet still I am having problems for them to fix the key fog, with nissan it was a pain to get them fix the airbags so Mazda is amazing!

Great detailed video, thank you for this posting, I don’t own a CX90, but my daughter just purchased a 2024 CX5 on May 5, and her hubby has as a 2022 CX5 hope they don’t get these recalls. But if she does we hope our Mazda dealership service technician are as complete and thorough as you! Again, thanks for a great video, extremely informative and detailed and yes…interesting. Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii!

I have been a Mazda owner since 1988, and having had over 30 different Mazdas, it is very interesting to me to see the dealer technician's side of things. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this with us! :)

I was driving my in-law’s Lexus NX this weekend and the emergency braking system engaged during sharp cornering and locked the steering wheel from apex to exit. Terrifying. My brother in law says his new Honda crv hybrid locks the wheel when he goes over sudden inclines. All these systems are not sophisticated enough for secondary roads and need to be disabled at low speeds.

Since I have this car the Mazda CX-90 PHEV premium I don’t even know how many times I have been visiting the dealership, also there’s a sign in my dash saying engine malfunction or hybrid malfunction, I have a year with the car and Mazda has done just nothing, they told me I can’t use the app to warmup the car inside when is cold, but the same thing now in summer when is too hot I can’t use the app to cooldown the car inside, sir have you seen this issue?

my father asked me what car he should buy, i recommended the cx-90

but now i have concerns about few things.

im worried about the lithium ion battery on the turbo S model, especially in case of flooding.
that could cause it to catch fire.

im worried about the turbo charger if it would be expensive if it breaks after warrenty expires. and if thats a common thing that should be expected on a turbo vehicle.

im worried about maintainance costs especially for spark plugs. due to the engine position

and the two fins that sticks out underneeth the car on the rear side, if they can easily be damaged and be expensive to repair

are my fears unfounded, please give your expert opinion

Ok, but you open by throwing up, recall papers all over the hood of the car. There are at least 15 papers. I expected 15 recalls. Nope, three.

Why won't you check all of the other modules for updates and update them?
