You can use a hand-saver dispenser on any length of stretch film, so long as it fits the gauge.
The next tool is a mini stretch wrap dispenser. This is a handle that fits into one end of the roll, allowing for a better grip, and increased tension control. These handles are great for smaller loads because it can be difficult to use one with a long roll of film, as it can become top heavy.
Mini dispensers are also cheap and lightweight, though not as much as the hand-saver tool. Still, the mini dispenser is more portable than our next tool, the stretch wrap dispenser.
The stretch wrap dispenser provides its user with the most effective tension control, allowing them to take advantage of the film’s maximum stretch rate. They are designed with ergonomics in mind, and are by far the easiest on your hands and back to use.
Typically, a stretch wrap dispenser has a long rod or the stretch wrap to go on, with an ergonomic handle at the base. This tool is a little more expensive, but definitely worth it for the increased productivity and reduced product waste.

Semi-automatic machines are capable of dealing with more than 20 loads an hour, but require an operator to do this. The operator places the pallet on the machine, tucks in the end of the stretch film, and initiates the wrapping cycle.
By the time he is back with the next load the previous load is done and he repeats the process. This makes for an easy, efficient process that gives a consistent load each time.
Once loaded, the machine applies and wraps the load on its own.
Fully automatic machines, however, are able to do everything on their own. A conveyor belt brings the load to the machine, where the machine interprets the height of the load, wraps it, then cuts and seals it.
Because every step is automated, fully automatic stretch wrap machines are capable of wrapping up to 120 loads per hour for maximum productivity.
