I agree, the MBP base model should have 16gbs. Considering you can get a 8core 8core MBA with 16gb, the lines between the two models are getting blurred significantly. its hard to justify a MBP currently.

In terms of purely buying the MacBook for school work such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint etc. Would you say the 8GB model would be enough? I will not be gaming on it as I have a dedicated windows PC for that, its purely for school work and studying and music production in Logic Pro X?

so good! I can see how a 16GB is a must for an all-powerful machine - still happy with my 8GB base model for all tasks that aren't production focused.
