I just got my late 2020 MacBook Pro M1 last week and I'm loving it. The M1 processor makes a world of difference. I just got the 8 GB model and I swear it's just as fast as my 32 GB iMac desktop and the display is absolutely gorgeous. I could have gotten the 16 GB model, but to me, it just wasn't worth the extra $200 for what I use this laptop for, which is basically just web browsing, some light photo editing, and email, which it's able to do flawlessly. I don't do any gaming or video editing, so I can't speak to that, but I've heard it's amazing for those things as well. I have a feeling that I will be using this thing for years to come.

I've had mine for a month as well and I love it. What they did with this chip is outstanding. And you need a jackhammer to put as much as a dent in the battery. Unbelievable.

Would you suggest the performance with Adobe software such as Premiere & After Effects is comparable to that of Final Cut?

The thing is, all youtube channels say how great is the M1 on editing and video stuff. I”d like to see how good is on microsoft office, 88 tabs open, slack, zoom, and everything in the same time as this is my work environment and thats where the intel i5 air 2020 freezes and drops down to non usable. I already ordered an M1 pro.

Both the M1 MBA and MBP are priced liked "Starbuck Squatter" machines and the fact that they can edit 4k video is just mind-blowing !

Watching all these M1 reviews made me realize my 2016 - 27 inch iMac and 2017 - 13 inch MB Pro were ready for an upgrade. So far, the 13 inch M1 MB Pro is as advertised.

Still using my 8GB 512SSD M1 today. Still fast and smooth. If we get an entry level M2 MBP this year, I might upgrade. Great video.

Just always go for 16GB version. My experience after a month with 8GB version is that it swaps a lot if you run 20 tabs (tabs in safari often average over 1GB each, google gmail for example 1.2GB). So you notice the pauses when you switch between apps quite frequently (especially if you run Outlook and Teams).
