Intense heat this weekend, but scattered storms too

Excessive heat warning and heat advisories are in effect for Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Heat index values will be 105-113°+.

Another hot and humid today is expected across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. Heat index values are expected to climb rather quickly this morning into the 105°-113° range. Continue to practice heat safety and drink plenty of water. A few showers and storms are expected to develop through the day but many areas will stay dry. Sunday the heat continues and scattered showers are possible.
