Use an inner tube and some zip ties to cover the connection by the chain stay. It will look clean and protect the wires from water if you ever get caught riding when its wet. Inner tubes are so versatile. You can cut them up an infinite number of ways for many uses. Most of us who ride have tons of dead tubes laying around.

I really want to build one of these. I injured my knee & can no longer peddle bikes like I used to. An Electric bike would allow me to get back into cruising.

hello good video, the controller can be placed inside a waterproof box so that it does not get wet or you can make one with containers to use in the microwave since you put it in a place where if there is water on the floor or it rains the wheel will take care to wet the controller as for the cables you can use a small tube or a flexible rubber tube plus a thermoretractile so that the connections are not exposed to rain

I build bikes usually mid-drives what you can't tidy up/conceal with heat shrink or braiding/heat shrink I use neoprene sheets black and black double sided tape and cable ties. It really looks professional. Additionally you can use old inside tyre tubes to wrap around cables. I get cheap neoprene from local diving store in small sheets they use for repairs.

You can run the wires through the frame with a few holes. Nice clean look.
They also make wire dressing called "looms" that clean up all the loose wires.
Great vid.

I have a Schwinn Hybrid. I bought an 1500 W Ebikeling conversion kit. Being that there were no install instructions with the kit, I found your video to be very helpful. Thanks.

I have had a Bafang 1500W hub motor 48V 12aH battery mounted on a Surly Troll for 3 years now, no problems. I have had mid drive also, prefer the rear hub drive.

I really have to give you credit for adding the torque arm and you used not one but two which is important for hub motors especially if it's an aluminum alloy frame or carbon fiber frame...
maybe steel frame or titanium frame might be able to hold the hub better on the rear dropout especially if you lift the bike off the ground to check for throttle top speed.
I also see you drilled the torque arm to the frame as well... excellent!, and as far as trying to hide the wires...it looks fine, don't worry about it.👍

You can get schrader tubes with 48mm valve stems that work with those rims. I also bought an ebikeling geared motor kit and also painted my controller black :) I put the thumb throttle on the left, I just curled the cable back around and used a zip tie to keep it in place. Has worked fine for the 5 months I've had the kit.

Well done for using torque arms, most builders miss this out and it's very important.
I just finished my first conversion with a similar ( cheaper) motor and battery and love it.

I used 2 truck's mudflaps, sized them, shaped them and cut a little hole to connect the charger to the battery, it works great and looks great, you did a great job.
It s my kid's bike though.

You have talent . When you talked about moving the thumb throttle, then all the different wires, my head almost exploded !!!

I use the Bag Bikase Long John Bk from Amazon 39.00 to hide all wires just put the controller in it and put a hole in the end of it and screw in a 1 1/2 in PVC bushing so it looks pro and prevents fraying.

Hi its nice to see there are people's like me building ebike. I found v brick isn't enough for 48v 1000w ebike. I replace with disk break. Now it seems ok. For saifty is paramount. Sam.

I have the same battery. Instead of drilling mounting holes in the frame, I drilled holes in the battery attach plate. Put two holes in the metal plate where the wires go through. There is a plastic cover that can be removed with three small screws. Mounts to the standard mounting holes on the bike tube. Wish I could post a photo hear.
