My neighbors husband was in the military. While he was in basic, in the morning, after they got up, the sergeants would have them walk through a wooded area. The sergeants did not accompany them. It was always foggy and had an unpleasant order. They would do it for a few days, stoped then started again a few weeks later. Everything was the same except the odors would be different. No one ever explained anything. Years later he started having health problems. Most of the time the doctors could not figure out the cause. He lost one leg, knee down and almost lost one eye. He died in his early 60's.
