I used to struggle to walk for 10 minutes. Ran my first 5k yesterday at 57 minutes. I’m excited to get better.

I did my second 5k yesterday. I’m 44 year old male. My time was 34 flat. I quit smoking and started cardio training 3 months ago. So I think I did well.

2 years ago I had a serious lung issue and couldn't walk more than 20m without my HR spiking and going to the hospital. I was a state champion in track 100/200m sprints in highschool and I'm now 32 and then had this issue.

Today after a long road to recovery, I can fast walk 10K and breathing heavy at the end. Today, I'm going to slowly start running 1K then more every week in my journey. Wish me luck y'all!

I started running 2 weeks ago.
I am 27 years old, and overweight. My first day, i run for 2 minutes and i was out of breath. Today i hit my second 5k run within 54min. I know that this is a lot, but i have to start somewhere. I’m going to run 5k everyday, and try to improve my personal record. The fact that the first day i run for 2 minutes and today i achieved my second 5k, gave me confidence and boosted up my moral! Instead of sitting and crying about my situation i made the choice to do something about it.

39 Male. 23:33 seconds is my 5k PR. Its been a long road here though. Been serious about running for a little over a year now I'd say. I started at closer to 12 minute miles and now im usually under 8 minute miles on a good run. Don't give up. Just be consistent and disciplined.

Just back from my first ever 5k. I'm 30, been bodybuilding and powerlifting for 10 years. I did 41 minutes, walking and running mix, probably about 80/20 walk/run ratio

I stopped smoking just over a year ago and began C25k. I targeted 35 mins for 5 km, which I achieved before the end of the programme. I started to do Park run weekly and eventually ran a pb of 28:20. I run 5k between 29 and 32 minutes depending on the day and the course. I am moving to 10 kms regularly now. My pb is 1:04. Not too worried about times now, I just enjoy running. Oh, almost forgot to mention 😊 I will be 69 years old in ten weeks 😬

Hi there, I'm a 67 yr old female (granny) and have recently done my first run ever. My two goals were a) to finish it and if I did that b) not be last. I really hoped I would be able to run OK as I had been practicing and jogging now and then. As it turns out I did it in 32.5mins and was 80th out of about 115 other runners. So I was pretty pleased with that although I should mention that the course was on tarmac and flat apart from a bit of a slope at the end of the two circuits. However, I didn't do a warmup as I got confused about the start time and also didn't realise how important that is. Also my running shoes were for trail running, not road running.
So now I'm mad crazy to do better next time. Although I'm not sure I can 'run' any faster than that time.

My first 5k is at the end of this month. 39/F and I'm just hoping to hit under 40 minutes. I'm not fast but I've only been training 2 months and hopefully I can surprise myself on race day. I don't have much running history... got started last year then broke a bone in my foot, moved, caught covid etc so this is the first time I've been consistent for awhile. I'll let you know how it goes!

39 male, run treadmill at gym roughly 3-4 times a week for last 2 years (on and off). Got a sub 24 minute 5k today. Aiming to knock a couple of minutes off by end of 2023. Most important thing I've learnt is to listen to my body and thereby avoid injury. When I started I was over 30 mins and very unfit, it's great to look back and see how far youve come, just gotta stick with it.

Started running a week ago. Have done 5 runs so far with my dog.

I weigh 130kg, 35 male. Only exercise for the last two years is walking my dog everyday.

I started at 1 hour, then got 50min, then 45min, 40min, and last night I hit 39 min.

My goal is to do it in 30 minutes, without walking breaks. It's gonna be hard to shave off those last few minutes, but I'm pumped to do it.
