Whenever you have an accident sometimes you can damage your nose and if the nose is broken it gives a very odd deformity. A broken nose can also lead to a blocked nose, it can lead to recurrent sinusitis, it looks very unsightly. These are the reasons why you should treat a newly damaged nose. If the nose is broken and the fracture is un-displaced all you need is a small splint on top of your nose so that the nose does not get deviated further. But if the nose is deviated you have a septal fracture or septal haematoma. Then we definitely needs surgery. Of all this the septal haematoma is probably the most serious one because the entire septum can get damaged and this damage can lead to the loss of the septum. The rest of the surgery like fixing the broken nose can wait from any period from day 1 to day 7. The important thing is you get it properly by a surgeon who knows how to fix these noses.
