I'm not a mouth breather, but I can have a slight mouth opening at night which leaves my mouth dry. I use surgical tape to tap my lips closed. A sort piece going from the indention under my nose down to the mid chin. It's been successful for me so that I've had 5 days this month so far where I've had no events at all register.

I just started CPAP. I feel like I can't get enough air breathing through my nose (using nasal pillows) and the air escape is very odd. I think I'm going to ask for the hybrid face mask.

I use the chin strap and I tape over my mouth when using my CPAP. My CPAP says there has been 0L/min leakage yet it still pumps my stomach and intestines full of air so that my stomach hurts because it's so full. I can't sleep with the full face mask and I would love to stick with the nasal mask only. I sleep well with it but most nights it just pumps me full of air even without any leakage. Oh and I forgot to meantion my AHI has been also 0.0 which makes it even wierder that it pumps me so full of air.

Well Noah I think this might be one better than yours. I recently sent a request to a company called NuMask. They have an item called a retention mask very different than the hard plastic, ill fitting and expensive type. I told the company, "Best thing  sliced since sliced bread". Read up on it. It is different, but EXTREMLEY comfortable.
