I was hunting with my friends and uncle out in Montana one year. We were in the foothills, the snow covered mountains in the background. Was beautiful. Then we noticed a small animal that was caught in an illegal paw trap. Poor thing. It was a wolf pup. But really big for a pup this immature. So we camped out in that area, hoping mom or brothers would come find the pup unharmed and ready to go back to his pack. Well two days and nothing. So I kept him. By the time the vet had him at 6 months of age he was already bigger than a full grown Alaskan wolf. That wasn't shit though. He turned a year old and he had doubled in size from that 6 month old mark. Anyway by the time he stopped growing. I was a massive 245 pounds of solid muscle. The least aggressive dog I have ever owned. He made the dog in this video look like a Poodle puppy. Come to find out he was what was know as a Timber Wolf and was considered a runt of the litter by the standards of modern science. He lived for almost 20 long years and was my best friend in the world. Loved to hop a 7 foot tall fence like it was a small curb. The old ladies in the neighborhood would give him food and toys. Then he would come home hop back over the fence Then come inside for the evening. I'm 6', 5" tall and on his hinds he stood an impressive two feet above my head. Huge, giant, big baby.

I would say a large wolf, a dogman front arms would be larger and longer

Timber wolves are way bigger than you'd think. A healthy male pushes 170 lbs

People don't realize just how big a timber wolf can get. Very big and impressive.

My cousin and I were duck hunting out of a scanoe (little wider and deeper than a canoe with a flat transome). Hunting was slow. Come 11am, we decided to paddle through this creek connecting a chain of 3 lakes in Northern MN. Do a little "jump shooting on ducks hanging out in there"
There were series of beaver dams we had to pull the canoe over at the second one on my side was all doggy swamp. My cousins side was a shoreline and woods. We both get out and start pulling the boat over.
I look up and there is a MASSIVE Timberwolf standing there watching us. I said to my cousin quietly. "Grab your friggin shotgun. There is a huge wolf 15 ft behind you on the edge of the dam." My gun was at the back of the boat out of reach. He leans into the boat, grabs his gun, turns his head to look at it. As soon as he started turning his shoulders, the thing bolted. Was completely gone in 2 jumps.
Definitely a pucker factor.
My cousin was 6'4" 200+ lbs and that friggin wolf was definitely bigger than he was.

That is a BIG GUY. Not a Dogman, they move and act far different. If you see a Dogman...you'll never forget.

From what I have seen (in person and in videos) I truly believe that the Dire Wolf is still around. And making a healthy come back.

We have huge Timber Wolves where I live, in fact one early spring the ice melted and a wolf's den was flooded. I watched her grab her pups one by one and she made a temporary next under the deck.

We let her be, and she started leaving them for longer and longer periods, then one day she returned and one by one she relocated, no doubt having found a more suitable, proper den.

She left one pup behind...as a thank you? Whatever, the reason that pup would have died from starvation, or lack of water. So, I butpicked him up and in no time at all we had a huge timber wolf!! He was one of the most affectionate, and very intelligent dog's we ever had

"Bear" was about two years old and weighed 145 lbs and that was the first of several other times when he easily hopped over our 6 foot fence and he buggered off for a few days, sometimes longer, or shorter, but he always came back full of burrs, leaves and general forest cling ons!

So, he kept his wild sense and no doubt smelled something, that to him was delicious!! Bear was an irresponsible father who went around porking every wolf bitch he could scam, then buggered off without even a single kiss!

He loved everybody, even children, and was so gentle around the kids. But if anyone came knocking at night, even if he could clearly see it was a friend or relative, he lost his shit!

Still think about him from time to time, but I try not to because as manly as I am and as tightly as I hold onto my toxic masculinity with vigor and pride, it brings a tear to my glass eye!!

See you all in Heaven my dogs. The hardest dog loss for me was my Victorian/Old English bulldog Betty. I lost my baby Betty three year this past December and I had such a difficult time losing her. I always stay with our dogs if they need to be "put down" but watching her spirit leave damn near crushed me.

The vet, a beautiful woman, stayed with me in a quiet back room until I was ready to leave and never see Betty again...until I see all my dogs in Heaven!

Damn it, see told yus! I just choked up...
I doubt that's a Timber wolf, but it's certainly not beyond possibility, it's a grainy, moving video.

Timber wolfes are huge - I know this for a fact because I've seen them while hunting. But this appears to be missing its tail.

Yep. This is it. This is what I saw 3 years ago, cross the road in front of me, oil top county road, step hopped the fence on my left, two strides was across the road. Stopped, turned and looked at me, and I swear it grinned. Nose to tail stretched the width of the road. At least twice as big as a great Dane, but more like 3 times the size. Phenomenal creature. But that's him for sure. Finally I know.

Nobody really mentioned the white one running in the background. I think it's just a pack of beautiful wolves. They can get huge!

Not a dogman but when you see one you'll know luckily I was 5 and didn't know what it was but the fear you feel will be unlike anything you've known...even deploying to Iraq nothing has compared since 😳

I would definitely say large wolf, without scale I'm not even sure how large it is, as far as a Dogman it's far too narrow lacking shoulders and a tail

I have some friends who go hunting/camping yearly, and they tell me they have spotted grey wolves that big occasionally.
