M1 MacBook Air One Month Later: An iPad User’s Perspective

Ive had my hands on this M1 macbook air now for about a month and I wanted to share with you my overall thoughts on it! Let me know what you think!

I like you have been an iPad Pro user since 2018, used it all the time with the Apple Folio keyboard but I haven't touched it since I got the new Air. I used the iPad over a traditional laptop for battery life, silence, speed - all things solved with the M1 chip. Rosetta has been brilliant and is running even Intel based apps noticeably faster than any other computer I've used. I'm waiting for a new iPad Mini to trade in my Pro for, as long as it has USB-C and the same low bezel design as the new iPads.

You forgot to mention passive vs fan cooling in your comparison with early 2020 mb air. Its not just the chip that is different.

Is it going to slow down over time? Or will it stay as fluid as it is right now for me? Because it is pretty smooth, but not sure if it'd stay the same after a few months and even a year or two.

Would you recommend to switch from iPad Pro 2018 12.9 with magic keyboard to m1 MacBook Air? Because in March there will bei new iPads and value of my iPad can drop depending on how good the next iPads will be.
