Shoebill, a weirdo bird but a cute little fella

When you look at this bird, you’d think it’s not real. This is the shoebill, which looks like a modern-day dinosaur. They’re patient and shy birds, and despite their scary looks, they don’t bother humans.

These birds have been around for over 30 million years, and their appearance hasn't changed much. Shoebills are known for their large, unique beak that looks like a shoe, which helps them catch prey easily. Despite their big size, they don’t fly much and spend most of their time in the water and nearby. Shoebills can live over 35 years and reach maturity at 4 years old.
