My cat knows when my blood sugar or my blood pressure goes up. I told my lifelong BFF, who is also a medical lab tech and a fellow “cat person” that my cat had been behaving very strange and was way more clingy than usual. My BFF knew my family history of diabetes and asked me if I had checked it lately. I hadn’t, so I got it checked. It was over 300! Later I discovered that she also knew when my b/p was dangerously high. She’s never been trained, but she’s also never been wrong. When she starts those protective behaviors, one or the other is dangerously high!

Aww, what a beautiful video. So glad she has Ryder in her life. I have two rescued adult GSD's, and I can tell you they are crazy intelligent and don't want to leave your side. Their jobs are to protect, love you, and make you laugh, and they excel at all of the above. All the best to Ryder and his mom!

Who else has a SD?

I have one (whose still in training - SDiT) for psychiatric disabilities, medical alert and response, and mobility. My pit bull is easily the best thing that has happened to me, and gave me more confidence to go and be in public areas without fear that I’ll breakdown and not be able to come back without a hospitalization, or some kind of other support system. He’s one of the most loyal dogs I have come across. Hopefully I will soon release me first video, and be changing my channel into a Vloging channel so that he and I will educate people about those who think all disabilities are visible, or think that ANY person is qualified for a SD. Thanks for the people at the Dodo who have touching stories like this to help me understand how other people with SD need help (as I only have limited knowledge since I only have some disabilities). I hope that maybe they could start a mini season with SD’s all over the world - sometime in the future.
