That is why they delayed fixing the issue. It took them many days to start the work. So, they can charge us by the hour. What a bunch of scammers.

Footnote: Centerpoint CEO'S were present and in full knowledge of what was transpiring in Texas while on an Aslan tour with Governor Greg Abbott. Do not be fooled, these fools are acting like fools...with your money.

Why doesn’t that surprise me. Bring back regulated utilities.

They are already trying to charge people for the whole month when the power was out for weeks in some cases. End the Centerpoint monopoly and bring back regulated utilities, this has gotten out of control.

I had my own generator that kept me in power. WHY THE HELL would I pay extra for their failings?

I get charged $200 for electric and $200 for water per month. It is just me in the home. Then I get a notification in attorney comprehensive language that they want to raise my rates before any hurricane occurred. Where is my money going lol. And what justification do they have to raise the rates. Sadly I don’t think the scammers are isolated just in Houston.

Imagine the cost everytime you need to replace solar and wind turbines😂😂😂😂 your money is buying big houses and fancy cars. No more power for the people, power for profit

Hell no! They should be setting aside some of the monies they collect from us for an emergency fund. But since they’re a for profit business their shareholders will not stand for that cause then that money will not flow into their pockets.

The CEO and executives should give up their bonuses and shares to pay for this mess

That should be against the law! Our bills are high enough already! 🤬

They need to be done there should be no negotiations or excuses..this should be the last straw! Texas needs to go with another company or figure something else out. We cant depend on Centerpoint its simple.

So they eliminated vegetation removal for how many years and saved how much money? And how much in bonuses have been paid out? I’d say you can eat it!
When Harvey hit, and my business was closed for a week, I didn’t raise my prices? It wasn’t my customers fault? We did just the opposite; we did a lot of work restoring damaged leather goods at reduced prices, and depending on the customers circumstances, sometimes we just comped the work.
I’m not comparing my tiny business to gigantic centerpoint from a financial perspective. What I’m saying is that regardless of size, a business can do the right thing.

I already figured they were going to do this!, Had that "Hurricane Cost Recovery" on my Electric Bill for at least 2 years after Hurricane Ike!😡

They better sell them 800 million dollars worth of generators they not using. They charge us a flat ass storm charge now. It's like $15/month. They should be forced to set aside a contingency fund for emergencies.

I have an idea, how bout the ceo gives up the bonuses he and other executives receive. I’m sure they can recoup much more and faster.

15 years that’s so ridiculous. Shame on Center Point

I would say this would only be acceptable if they provided a yearly update on progress, and there should be expectations they have to meet with respect to fortification of utility poles and other safety and preparedness measures. If they don’t meet those goals for the year? They do not get reimbursed for that year.

If they have to pay from operating expenses it will hurt bonuses…cant have that
