I have bought a G7 a month ago, and I was really impressed. Love this camera

I had a bad story with the Sony zv-e10 last year and only 8 months after purchasing it I sold it and got the G7, I spent half of what I spent on the E10, and I went to better, audio management better than light years better than Sony, more lenses, lighter and the camera is easy to carry, however in terms of photo quality they are +- on par, the menus of the G7 are much more effective, and you have more simplicity to change the parameters, I spent €500, and I received the G7, 5 extra batteries, a rode rycote and a 14mn-140mm Lumix, shortly after I bought a Manfrotto and an nd filter, almost completing the setup, now I intend to take a smallrig cage, some handles to be able to attach a spotlight (rightly a continuous light for videos), the microphone and a flash to be able to use this camera for a long time to come

Updated my Olympus E300 kit to a Lumix G7 a week ago. Got the kit lenses and the 42.5 f1.7 prime. The full kit and bag, including extra batteries and two chargers, weighs about what the E300 and a 50-200 f2.8 weighs.
With a full featured adapter, all my 4/3 full sized lenses are still usable.
I'm enjoying photography again, my phone camera is amazing, but a dedicated camera is a whole different critter.

Love my G7 when I am hiking or backpacking a long distance. My G9 is far superior for photos & videos, but sometimes I need the compact & lightweight G7 on my adventures. The G7 was my workhorse until I bought my G9, and I sometimes feel bad for not using it more than I do.

I just ordered one with the two lens bundle. I’m hoping to mess around with it more this weekend. So far it seems like a fun little camera.

Great video, I have acquired 2 over the last few years each for a very reasonable price. Love using them.

I tossed up long and hard over G7 or GX8, still wonder if 20MP, weather sealing and IBIS are enough to justify my choosing the newer camera.

However, prices for the G7 had also risen abou $200 since I first began looking while the GX8 price was more stable.

I notice G7s gave dropped back to more reasonable levels in the past month or so.

Another terrific, primary features emphasized, abbreviated review offering, Grant. Thanks for sharing, Buddy!

I got my G7 for below $200 in perfect shape, with no signs of use and small shutter count. This is also my second G7, I sold the first but it's so good that I bought it again :)

I just recently thought about what MFT camera I would recommend to someone starting an interchangeable lens system. And to me it would be between the G7(70) and the G8 (81).
Nice video.

I have a love/hate with this camera. Only because i do rap videos and the autofocus really pisses me off with this camera lol

Yes, a good camera. And it is still available brand new for around £500 here in Britain.

I recently picked up the original LX100 and really enjoy to use it. I'm thinking about picking up a GX8 soon. I'm currently waiting on a Nikon APSC camera with IBIS.

I got my G7 years ago as B-cam for my GH4 because my Ollie E-M5ii could not do the job. Put bluntly, Olympus cannot shoot video, its a sensor cooling issue. The G7 is more like a pre-shrunk GH4 with no Body-IS and pop-up flash but give it a Power-OIS lens and it is well stabilised with all but the longest lenses. The GH4 itself is still a great camera and can do a few video things better than the G9. The G7 is certainly as capable and equivalent to the E-M5ii. The G7 is superseded by the G80, the G9 is a very different animal.
Whilst the G7 is still available new, it has practically no trade-in value, and so you will find used at rock-bottom prices. Up to £300 UKP vgc, beware the cheapest broken ones.
For me that pop-up flash, something of an afterthought these days, is very useful for fill-in. Apparently the G7 is well liked for talking head vlog as you are doing, just stick it on a tripod and off you go; no it can't run and gun like a G9. The follow-focus can be a bit sticky and will try to remain focused on the head but you can turn that gubbins off so it will refocus on the hand.
Given a choice between G7 and G100, I'd go G7 as the better camera (not just cheaper).

I bought the G80 for travel a few months ago, brilliant little thing and only £250 with box and low shutter count. 😮

Some might say I’m crazy, but I recently purchased a G7 and am going to put my Pen F on eBay. Don’t get me wrong, I realize the Pen F has some fantastic features, and I love the retro style. But I just don’t see any difference in I.Q., and that’s what it’s all about for me. I’m hanging on to my lenses…Leica 25mm f1.4, Pany 20mm f1.7 and Pany 14mm f2.5. I think they will pair well with the G7. Your thoughts?

Any reason why my footage/pics are grainy I have the right iso ss aper but still grainy. I see other people’s videos with it and it’s so clear. Can you do a vid on that?

Before the Safe and Effective Bizzaro Era, you could pick up a G7 with two lenses for $600 Canadian, or about $440 USD.
