Vedic Maths Vs Abacus: Key Differences

Показать описание
In this video, Gaurav Tekriwal, Founder of Vedic Maths Forum India highlights the key differences between Vedic Maths and Abacus.
Both Abacus and Vedic Maths are new ways of solving mathematical problems in a simpler way. The major difference between the two lies in scope. Abacus, on one hand, has a limited scope as only four basic mathematical operations can be solved using it. On the other hand, Vedic Maths has usability in almost all the topics of mathematics starting from basic operations to calculus. Also, a major difference is the tool. Abacus uses a simple device for calculating, consisting of a frame with rows of wires or grooves along which beads are slid. Unlike abacus, there is no tool involved in Vedic maths and one can easily solve questions with nothing else but the presence of mind.
Vedic Mathematics consists of 16 Sutras or Word Formulae and 13 sub-sutras (Sub Formulae) which can be used for solving mathematical problems in a far simpler manner. It offers techniques and shortcuts to master numerical calculations in split seconds. Using these techniques, it is possible to calculate 10-15 times faster than the usual methods. The difficult problems or huge sums can be solved almost immediately by the Vedic method.
