I'm so sorry about the baby goat. Your right though it's a normal side of homesteading, and life, things are born and sometimes it's not in the cards to live long. Thank you for sharing.

I'm sorry for your loss. Don't have homestead yet. Plan to have goats. I am learning from you. Thanks. It is much appreciated. The good, bad, and ugly of it. So many misinformed people look at YouTube and think it's easy. Sell all their stuff and fail.

You guys are awesome for doing everything that you could for that little guy! It's good to be honest and share the good, the bad and more so learn from each experience, so it's not a total loss. I really feel for you guys, there's a lot of responsibility when taking on livestock. Hope its smooth sailing for the spunky little one you still have:)

Sorry about the lost. One of the best indicators with young goats is their tail. If they are wagging they are in good health but if it is down something is wrong.

I am so sorry for the loss of your little one. I have Pygmy goats and despite my best effort, I have had losses. I have found if I bottle feed, whole milk has worked best. I have one of my bottle fed girls that is now 4 years old.

So sorry you lost a baby guys! Next time you may want to give him/her more water in the enema, get a 5/8" or any other adapter and a clear house with a brass tip to plug it into your animal rear and if is a baby as this one was you can do it in your shower tub if you have one or create the conditions so there's one shower tub in the farm for them and in case you need to do this operation you get him/her in and proceed ideally with warm water that doesn't burn and the water as comes in will come out and introduce as much water as you see an adverse reaction by the animal. Basically s/he'll feel a little full after you introduce him/her some water and s/he'll be able to have more liquid to poop easier. And, make sure they drink enough water. Meaning is important that to a certain degree you see him/her drinking water.

I heard in the video you gave them a milk substitute or formula. I learn the best food for babies is the mothers. So I strongly recommend you guys to make efforts to only feed your babies their own organic mom's milk. They produce the quality milk they need to develop their babies.

I wish you success always!!!

Just watching this video--catching up on older ones I have not--and just hate this for you guys! Bottle babies are the hardest! We lost 3 last winter that we could have sworn were going to make it but just didn't! We tried so many different things but too much was against us.. So been there, unfortunately, done that--Kristy
