How To Help A Premature Baby Goat That Can't Stand

In this video you can see how we are helping our premature baby goat that couldn't stand when she was born. After about a week of helping her stand and build her strength she is able to stand and walk on her own. DON'T MISS the BABY GOAT YAWN at 3:40! You won't regret it!

Key points are:
- Help the baby goat stand up several times per day for 10-15 minutes at a time to build strength.
- Our baby's back legs were very stiff and straight, so we held her and pumped her legs up and down for 5-10 minutes at a time several times per day. She would push back, which helped build up her muscle strength.
- We found that gently pushing on the back of her legs (one at a time) helped her get the idea about how she should start walking.
- Don't get too frustrated! Our baby goat wasn't walking around on her own until about day 6 after she was born.

Check out her progress by watching this video:

Christmas Day! We had one of our baby goats born breeched and not breathing! He was fighting to survive and luckily he’s doing good! He still can’t stand up or walk so we also hope momma takes him still and cares for him!

I have been here in California for over 50 years. I had a few like that in the pst fifty years. I haven’t lost anyone of them. You just have to feed them good milk with lots of vitamins.

I have floppy baby goat 2 days old now. He can stand up but flops all the time. He can’t feed oh his own so we hold him there to get a drink from mom. Does floppy syndrome go away on its own as long as we make sure he is getting food and help him stand on his feet to get stronger ?

About the same thing going on, but she's walking good kind of but she doesn't like to drink milk out of the bottle.
So I have to put it in the side of her mouth in order for her to get milk any suggestions?
