Why does my Chevy or GMC keep locking when I walk away?

Quick tutorial on how to turn on and off the self locking doors on your Chevy and GMC. This feature won't lock your keys inside the vehicle but if you walk away with them in your pocket it will lock up your belongings so no one else can get to them.

Chevy needs to change the time and make it longer before locking. The reason is I open the passenger door for my wife to help her get in the truck note: I know guys don’t do that anymore. But I have always done it. But buy the time I walk around the truck to get in the drivers side the door relocks just as I’m getting ready to open the door. Drives me crazy

I have a 2018 Chevrolet 2500hd. I have locked the keys in the ignition twice. Is there a setting to stop that from happening when they are in the ignition? Thanks

You can also toggle it on and off by holding both lock and unlock down on the fob.

All throughout the night my 2014 Jeep Patriot kept locking even thought all 4 doors were locked, so the horn kept chirping. Over the past few days I noticed that I would have to press my remote several times to get them remote to with lock or unlock. Yesterday I had to try a few times to press the button on the door itself to get it to unlock all my doors.

My 2016 Equinox keeps unlocking when I hit the door lock on the door. And my FOB is not working at all, both happened at the same time.
Any insight or suggestions?
I then took the battery out of the FOB but the driver car door still would not stay locked, every time I hit the lock button on the door it would just unlock two seconds later!

My 2014 Equinox doesn’t have “passive lock” option In menu. It locks every time I get out of the car, even though the keys are in it (parked in my garage) and I have to unlock the doors to get my groceries from the back seat 🙄 I have to leave the windows open so I can unlock the doors after I get out of the driver’s seat & close the front door. I HATE auto locks & wish I could shut the feature off completely, but it doesn’t seem that’s an option 🤬

I have chevorlat traverse 2023, when I close the doors lock while driving because I have kids in the back, if any one open the door will open from second try, how can I make the order of unlocking just from driver, please help me, the manual not clear

My truck would never lock up until about 3 days ago now every time I leave my truck and come back the doors are all locked

You can also turn the beep off and just have the lights flash

I can't get mine to lock while I'm in the vehicle unless I'm in drive. I can't pull up to an atm & put it in park while I get money because it unlocks it leaving me vulnerable. I can't park in a parking lot & lock the doors either with a fob or manually, or won't lock.

I have always left my keys in my 2015 tahoe and the doors would not lock. My 3 year old was hitting buttons the other day and now my car will lock even with the fob Inside. How do I change it back so that my car doesn't lock if keys inside. Thanks
