I don’t want a Stanley and I DON’T NEED a Stanley. We live in a society where people are bullying others over a LITERAL CUP

I’m with the mom on the girl who got bullied. If I ever found out any of my girls were bullying another child for not having a name-brand item (or bullying in general!) I’d have them by the ear apologizing to the other child. Absolutely not. That behavior starts at home. I’m mad for that mom and her daughter.

I think they should not be allowed at schools. This bullying over material stuff is getting bad very bad at schools.

Consumerism in America is at an all time high, and to think 99% of these cups will end up in a land fill in a few years when they’re not cool anymore

That mother going out and buying her daughter a Stanley cup so her daughter isn’t bullied is part of the problem. Teach your children not to follow trends

Please. Girls. Let’s try not to be the girls in only Uggs fighting over Stanley cups. Please. Stanley has led in it anyways. But like. Let’s love our individuality you know?

I have a stanley cup I bought at a thrift store. I really like it because it keeps my drink cold and doesn't stain my work table. That is about it. Would I have it if it wasn't a Stanley? Yes, would I buy a cup that keeps my drinks cold in 30 C heat for more than 4 houts without a lid if it wasn't a Stanley, heck yes! This is just a fad, and kids being mean is normal.

The mom who’s kid was bullied. SHE is part of the problem and doesn’t seem to realize it. She says she wants to, teach her kid not to basically feel inferior because she does t have a trendy item. Yet when the kid starts whining, she goes and PACIFIES the child with the item!! The thing to do would be to teach her to like what SHE likes….the Walmart cup she and….and not let others tell you what to do.

I don't have a Stanley Cup. I have a knockoff and I'm OK with it.

Those are the types of people that would go completely insane over a chicken sandwich from Popeyes and possibly over a pop tart. I just don't understand why people are so influenced by something that holds liquid and there's nothing special about it.

At one point I almost bought a Stanley went I saw it on sale, but then I stopped myself and decided to go with some other brand on Amazon for cheaper. It has a cute design, holds my drink both hot and cold for hrs, and it does the job just fine and it’s way cheaper than a Stanley. After seeing the craze about Stanley today I’m so glad I didn’t buy one. People bullying over a cup is ridiculous!

I find this hilariously funny. And I am very fascinated by this. When I was young my grandmother bought me a Stanley thermos from a thrift store I’m sure. I painted it and put my name on it. And I really liked it.And a little boy told me that I was poor and then he throw it on the ground and broke it. I just wanted to share my back in my day story. Cause I’m getting so old.😢😅😅

It’s really dumb that people are bullying each other and fighting over a cup. In a few years that cup isn’t gonna matter, because another item is gonna be in the spotlight.

The bullied girl did absolutely nothing wrong, and her mom shouldn't have felt obligated to buy her a Stanley cup just because the other kids had one. Remember - she didn't even WANT one! She wanted a cup that suited HER personality!

The onus here should have been on the parents of the bullies to teach their kids not to bully others just being different.

If I found out my kid was bullying another kid for a reason like this, I'd force them to apologize in person, and either force my kid to buy a Stanley for the bullied kid with their own money, or confiscate theirs and give that one to said bullied kid.

(as someone who has been bullied in school for being different myself, I have no patience for bullies... especially when it'd be my own hypothetical kids.)

I have a dozen YETI cups and got them for reasonable prices. My husband got a free Stanley from a rep passing them out as advertising for the brand at Home Depot a few years back. This craze is a waste of time and money. Insulated cups are just not that important.
Edit: Parents need to realize when their kids are being too materialistic and reinforce in their children that they themselves have more to offer the world than their possessions, that self-worth comes from who they are, not what they have. Unless this happens, we’re going to have a lot of miserable, possibly narcissistic, materialistic adults trying to outdo each other instead of helping each other running around in (and politically running) this country in 20 to 30 years; and materialism is already too prevalent in our society as it is.
