What’s the Julie & Julia movie about?
In 1948, Paul Child (Stanley Tucci from The Devil Wears Prada, Easy A and the Hunger Games saga), an American civil servant, arrived in Paris with his wife, Julia (Meryl Streep from Out of Africa, Mamma Mia! and The Iron Lady). Looking for an occupation in the French capital, she registers for cooking classes and develops a taste for concocting dishes for her husband and their friends. From this experience is born a recipe book which meets a huge success. Today, Julie Powell (Amy Adams from Catch me if you can and First Contact), a thirty-year-old employee in New York, feels like she is going in circles. She is bored with her job and jealous of her friends' success. To entertain herself, and on the advice of her husband Eric (Chris Messina from The Mindy Project), she decides to launch a culinary blog. She gives herself 365 days to realize all the recipes of Julia Child.
