The 4080 and 4090 are in the m18 r2 the 16 and 18 have slightly more cooling that would work for thw 4080 and 4090 as they draw alot more heat from what i have read

So I have been thinking about getting a gaming laptop for christmas, and I really like the m16 r2. However, one thing that worries me is the display 300 nits. Especially the brightness, like, is the display still good tho an opinion would help thx!

Literally just ordered this for 1800 usd. For the price in the ryz9 and 4080 I think its a good value, having priced all of the other competitors. I don't however understand the incredible criticisms from some of the other mainstream content creators given the entry prices.

So I have a couple of questions as I just bought this laptop today. One, how do I change the keyboard coloring like how do I put it on stealth mode or brighten or darken it? Also did you end up getting lines across the screen within the first 30 minutes of using it, across the bottom half of the screen I ended up getting lines. Like looks like the LCD screen died out

The Meteor Lake CPU’s in these Alienware laptops are notoriously slow. I returned mine. It struggled to run games on the lowest settings. Bought a Legion with an AMD processor.

This will be my next laptop most likely after my 17r3. But I am waiting until next year when the r3 comes out. I like the m18 but it is to big and heavy. And as I only will be having one laptop, the m16 seems like the perfect choice that you actually can bring with you. The x16 is just to expensive and big to justify. And it has soldered ram... I will use it mostly for work with 3D, photo and movie editing. Hope I do the correct pick.

Eventually I saw it was Intel which helps.. the Sale at Best Buy is with an AMD model.. you said this one has good battery life which would be great... my current Alienware m15 r4 gets about an hour on battery on a good day even when not gaming and overheats constantly ..

Hoping either the x16 or m16 have solved these problems.. I am also considering the Lenovo Legion pro 7i .. but always end up thinking, yeah.. but my heart still belongs to Alienware..

Some reviewers are saying that brightness is too low for outdoors, is it so ?? I'm planning to buy this to do coding and run ML algorithms. I like this machine but brightness factor is making me skeptical. I've some backup models in mind as well but they're coming with OLED panel which may/may not have screen flickering issues, since i'll be using text editors(black text on white bg) i can't risk getting migraines as reported by many many youtubers. If you can confirm that brightness is good enough for usual coding work it would be a great help. Thanks in advance

Hey interesting review ! At the moment I can get the Intel Core Ultra 7 version with 1TB SSD and 32 GB Ram with the RTX 4070 for 1999 Canadian $ sale . Is it a good deal or maybe I should wait for a bigger deal for the Ultra 9 model cpu what do you think?
