Unkyjoe - another great feature of pfSense is you can do a DNS type setup very very easy and map all your internal IP addresses to DNS names. I have a domain name I own, say "monkey.org" and what I do is put in all my servers names in pfSense. For instance, I have my iDrac in there as <server>-drac.monkey.org and map it to it's IP address for ease. Makes it really nice and no need to set up a full DNS server etc.

Would that Blue Iris software run on ESXI 6.5 on an Asustech Zenith X399 motherboard plus an AMD 1950x SKU and 2TB of DDR4 RAM?

Just one point on VM if that VM Server goes down it takes mail, cameras, hackitosh. It's a big gamble to take I've always like the idea of one task one server.
