Walmart Vs. Grocery Store $50 Haul | Which One Is Better?

In an effort to see where the BEST and most AFFORDABLE spot to buy groceries is between Walmart and the Grocery Store, I decided to do a little grocery shopping challenge. I took $50 into each store to see which had the best prices and deals. So, in this grocery haul, we look at a $50 Walmart grocery Haul and a $50 grocery store haul and compare which store offers the best deals and quality on their grocery items.

The point isn't to compare exact items for prices, but to look at the store overall for its pros and its cons to see what's best for shopping for groceries.

And this is why Walmart practically rules the world! When you are on a budget, Walmart is the only store to shop at other than Aldi... no one really likes Walmart’s principles but when it comes to feeding your family, you got to do what you got to do! I prefer the smaller neighborhood markets because the super centers stress me out and overwhelm me, but they have selection upon selection! Foods you never even knew existed 😂

I LOVE that you are unbiased about things like Walmart and Dollar Tree! I grew up around so many people who looked down at “cheaper” stores, but I’m all about saving a few bucks! 🙌🏼

There's another money-saver for Walmart that you missed: Savings Catcher. Once you get home you either scan the QR code on your receipt or you enter the receipt number on their website and within 3 days they compare the price of everything you bought to all other advertised prices in your area. Anything which is advertised for less than the Walmart price they refund to you, in the form of a gift card. There are a bunch of rules that go along with it, like it has to be an exact match (so house brands get excluded) and things which are sold by weight are excluded (so no meat or produce). It's not a lot of money, and it's not going to assure that you've always got the lowest price, but I would say I average getting back $5-6 per month (for a 1-person household), and it's often on things that I had no idea were on sale somewhere else, or they were on places I would never have looked at their ads because I don't shop there.

I saved at Wal-Mart vs Target. I love their grocery pickup. I have 4 kids that are ages 4 and under, and it has been a lifesaver and a money saver. Then, my kids are not putting extras on the bill either. Great video!

Walmart is great! Plus if you have the walmart app you can use their savings catcher! You scan your receipt and if they find a cheaper price advertised you get that money back! It has saved us tons of money and it's super easy!

People complain about Walmart but the prices are unbeatable and for that reason I do most of my shopping there. I refuse to pay double or triple the price for the same items at the regular grocery store.

Your story about Michael and the tortilla chips is like every trip of mine to Publix. They may be more expensive than Walmart (where my husband happens to work) but all the employees go out of their way to help and be friendly. He even says no one is happy working at Walmart which is why they aren't very friendly. Love your videos.

Get a pineapple corer/slicer from Amazon. They work great and eliminates the annoyance of cutting up a pineapple 🍍!

Top quality German coffee from ALDI is fantastic, btw.
1. Produce is in general a loss leader for stores so ALDI limits that segment to keep costs down which translates into better prices for us on everything else.
2. Work force is far better trained and gets paid top retail wages which I support (strong labor laws in Germany). Cashiers are seated and work better and faster than in US supermarkets. 3. Restocking takes fraction of the time. Boxes w/ merchandise placed as is on shelves. Saves costs and keeps olive oil, organic meats, delicious chocolates very affordable.

Try using a pineapple slicer to cut pineapple. I got one from Amazon and it was a game changer! Now I buy fresh pineapple all the time and its cut up and ready to eat in like a minute!
