On this video, I will show you an exclusive method in how to fix BOOTREC REBUILDBCD or FIXBOOT failure with this error message: “The System Cannot Find the Path Specified.” or "Bootrec RebuildBCD the Requested System Device Cannot be Found".
This message may appear if you are trying to fix boot loop or startup failure after cloning the disk or after a system failure in both GPT and MBR systems. But in MBR system, the error message is different as following:
“Element not Found when executing BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD, or Access denied when executing BOOTREC /FIXBOOT command.

Also if you are trying to rebuild BCD file using BCDBOOT C:\WINDOWS command, you will see this error message: “Failure When Attempting to Copy Boot Files.”
All of those errors indicate that the System or EFI partition is not configured properly or is not present at all.

When executing BCDEDIT command, you will see this error message: “The Boot Configuration Data Store Could Not be Opened.” Followed by: “The requested System Device Cannot be Found” instead of showing the Boot Configuration Data.

The ONLY method that worked out of over 10 different YouTube videos, including HP. You weren't kidding when you said "exclusive"!! You provided commands none of the others did. Hours and hours of playing with it, refusing to format my drive and having to re-install all those apps, paid off, thanks to you! And, brief and to the point; no rambling video!

I've had this issue a few times over the years and this is the first time I actually managed to get it fixed without reinstalling everything! Thank you so much!

Thanks. Save me tons of time.
However, I have encountered two error while using the mbr script, first one is there is some hidden character in the beginning of the file which makes the command failed. I manually copied the content to a new file solve this issue.
The second issue is the for loop at the beginning of the script, as my system has more than one disks that have the windows installed. One of the disk match the for loop and OSDrive variable has value. So the script won't go to the MainPath. I execute all commands manually to solve this issue.
So may I know what is the for loop used in the script?

I have a little additional tip for those with the same problem, you should check your boot settings in your BIOS, make sure it is only booting using Legacy, because I have tried all the ways but it turns out that my boot was still default so all the ways did not work.

I'm not sure if this is my issue. I updated windows 11 now I am locked out, no methods have worked in the repair utility, either unavailable or just restarts when selecting an option. I have windows 10 still on a separate internal SSD. Is there a way I can fix the issue manually while logged into windows 10? I can still see all the files on my windows 11 NVMe ssd. I need this fixed asap for work. Thank you!

Boom you helped me fix it! You showed me a step I missed by running BCDBOOT C:\WINDOWS and that fixed it!
