Quoted $385 to fix it. Ordered the part from you for $30 and watched the video. Took me 5 minutes. THANK YOU.

For others who watch this, if you can see the sensor in your oven and it looks like this one the replacement is the same, GE, GE Profile, range, single or double oven

F2 error occasionally for several years usually with the oven off. I bought the new sensor and slowly pulled the old one out. At the end of the harness, the plastic fitting was burnt right off. I opened the back of the stove and on the wire that it attaches to, That plastic fitting was also burnt and melted. That wire goes up and under the stovetop so at this point I chickened out and called a repairman. I have been waiting almost a week for him to come. I called back and he said he was doing "research" on the problem because he has never seen this before. I assume the plastic melted years ago during a self-clean. What should I do now? Call a different repairman?

I just replaced the temperature sensor and it did not fix the problem. Any other ideas as to what may cause the incorrect temps and over heating?

I have a question for you, My GE Oven Model JCGBS60DEK4WW I have had two different stove repairman in to fix my propane oven all they do is replace the igniter, They dont test anything just replace parts, Its glowing but not lighting, sometimes it will light then works like a charm. Any ideas what could be preventing startup. Could it be a faulty thermostat or is that only once the stove is heating up? I will mention that the home owner before me broke the gas line that goes into the back of the oven when pulling it out and had to replace the line, Is it possible it damaged the Safety Valve? Sorry for the questions, as I an getting tired of throwing money into it and not fixing the problem.

Will the red indicator light on the range glass top turn on for the oven? Or does the red indicator light stay on only for surface burners? My red light on my GE range glass top stays on because something is shorted. It’s either the burner or the oven temp sensor.

Where can I find the part# on the oven, or is the part# on the temp sensor itself?
