Oven temperature adjustment – using Plus/Minus and Up/Down Keypad

How to adjust the temperature of your GE electric range if your oven has keypad controls.

OH. MY. GOD. This may have just saved Christmas dinner. The brisket is cooking way faster than anticipated and I've been freaking out trying to find a way to hold it for more possibly more than 8 hours. 170 is a bit too high to hold with all the temp fluctuations going to 190 or more, but 145 would be perfect.

I just recently bought one of these ovens. My old oven used a dial. Push in and turn. That's it. That's all I had to do. And now I'm looking for videos just so I can figure out how to use this thing. Fancier is not better. An oven should not have me asking myself if the local collage has a graduate program on how to use an oven. I should not need to go searching for tutorials.

increments 1-5 counts as 5 degrees each making it the 35f up or down.

Had to look this up for an apartment that didn't get to choose their oven, little annoying that it's not as simple as set the oven temperature on a dial or type in. Anyone know what the default temperature is?

Just bought the JGB635DEKWW because my 27 year old GE oven died. The old one had a knob that I could turn to the desired temperature. What a pita it is when everything has to go digital.

I called GE. If you're cooking and simply want to increase or lower the temperature in your oven, press "bake" while the oven is on and then press plus or minus however much you want to increase or decrease the temperature. Then press "bake" and then "start". That works! This video is for adjusting the temperature of the thermostat if your oven is running cold or hot.

This does not work. I read the comments below but my oven on bake is about 50 deg low. I followed these instructions and the set temp did not increase.

I have this stove. I press bake. Bake flashes. Use arrows up or down to set temperature then press start except for the start button.

So if the number in the display when you start is -15 and you want to increase the temp by 5° do you go to -10 or 5.

My oven is 50 degrees hotter than it says. At 325, the thermometer reads 375, I wondered why everything burns and I have to cook on lower than recommended temperatures. Can I repeat the steps to lower it more than 35 degrees?

No SF appears, just Hi and broil light stays lit?

I cant even get to the sf menu, when I hold the bake and broil buttons the display says off calling ge and spent 20 minutes in robot number pushing. Very frustrating

I need help. I have a GE Gas Range JGB630DEF1WW. The display looks just like yours. I don't understand how and in what sequence you set the oven temp and cook time. I need 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hrs. ?

So to be clear, if I set my oven at -25, when I bake at 170 degrees, the oven should really be at 145?

in other words you DO need tools. You NEED a THERMOMETER that tells you if your oven is calibrated correctly (or if its too high or too low). THEN, after you KNOW how many degrees it's off by, you can hit the up/down +/- buttons appropriately. :)

what is the default temprerature? what if I want to slow cook something at 250 degrees?
