Disconnect coil from stove, Open up the sensor cap that is in the center, make the 2 wires that is inside touch, the sensor will no longer make the stove cut off.. you're welcome

I'm impressed and depressed in equal measure that someone has managed to make coil ranges even less useful and more inconsistent than they already are

Shame on the design and technology, worst ever stove in my life

These coils are the stupidest things I’ve ever encountered. How am I supposed to fry anything if the damn coil keeps turning off? I’ve literally been standing in my kitchen ruining chicken and fries for the past 2 hours

Another 'solution' to a non-existent problem.

Problem for me so far is that the tension is too tight. SO, if I use a light pan and make a grilled cheese or two fried eggs, there's not enough weight to get the pan to sit flat. I would think a tilted pan with grease in it might be a safety hazard in itself.

Took me like 2:30 minutes to fry 40 pieces of bacon. I can fry more pieces of bacon on the hood of my car when it's 90 degrees outside in less time. The dumbest stove ever.

I found a fix, you throw this crap away and get real coils. An EZ-Bake oven cooks better than this crap.

We are not happy with these burners, either. We have only had the stove a few days but boiling water, cooking french fries, etc, have all been problematic.

I have all brand new pots and pans. Bottom is straight as an arrow. Water won’t boil continuously. Can’t keep grease and a temperature high enough to fry ANYTHING. It took me 45 minutes to make chicken fajitas and didn’t turn out the best because I couldn’t blacken any of it. I tried cooking bacon the other day and it pissed me off so bad I took the pan outside and cooked on the grill. I have cooked on many different stoves and this one is by far, no questions asked, is the worst stove I have ever cooked on. I love cooking but don’t want to anymore just thinking about this pathetic thing I call a stove. I have never in my life felt the need to leave a bad review but this threw me over the edge.

OMG!!! I have an electric stove that will not cook anything. Canning this summer was a complete disaster because the sensor kept cycling off which meant the water pressure in the canner would never build up enough to can!! Whoever from UL invented this has obviously never cooked on an electric stove, or used a canner. GE needs to honor all their customers with a complete recall and replacement on these sensi-temp coils, and UL needs to recind their requirement for this ridiculous safety coil.

I just got this stove a few weeks ago and I absolutely HATE it! It does not maintain the temp when cooking. I read the manual, looked at the videos at GE's website and even went out and brought brand new heavy cookware based on their recommendations. The stove still preforms the exact same. I had a heavy pot, filled it with water, turned the unit on high to boil the water....the boiling starts and stop again throughout the course of cooking based on the design of these coils. Pasta, fried meats and sautéed veggies turning out horrible based on this design.

Utopian idea with extremely moronic and UNPRACTICAL implementation! Whoever tested this and approved for production needs to be fired! If you want to spend for cooking 2X-3X time longer than usual and NEVER get your food cooked properly - this is a technology for you. Otherwise, go buy regular elements and be happy.

anyone know where I can find one of those easybake kids ovens from the 1960’s? I’m wanting to replace my brand new Amana electric stove thats so safe to use, it wont boil water. I figured the easybake oven with a 100 watt bulb would at least bake a cake

The problem is with these new innovations is just too much headache. There is no enough heat as it cuts off very fast and takes longer for the coil to heat up again.

so in other words you need to buy new cook ware to use this stove?? LIKE you couldn't tell me that BEFORE i switched

Your instructions are bull because sensi-temp coils are useless. So people are hotwiring them, and replacing them with incompatible burners. Which makes stoves with sensi-temp even more dangerous then stoves without them. You're forcing people to mod their stoves and your fake explanation is just victim blaming.

How does GE suggest cleaning the sensi-temp section to remove all the burned fat, etc. on it? I clean the burners by turning them up on high for a few minutes; this does wonders for keeping pan exteriors cleaner when cooking. But it doesn't clean the sensi-temp center; they're a mess.

Can these coil elements be replaced with a generic, non sensi temp ?
