So grateful that I can call this amazing, confident, and articulate girl one of my best friends. She is just as wonderful in her daily interactions as she is in this interview! I'm so proud of all that you have accomplished, Georgia, and can't wait to see where life takes you!

Georgia's parents must be, quite rightly, very proud. This is an inspiring insight into a widely misunderstood condition.

But autistic people shouldn't have to expend all their energy trying to be like neurotypicals. It would be nice if they were just allowed to be themselves. This idea that you have to "pass" is very flawed.

Good talk! I just saw this today and realized that it’s a few years old - as she was getting ready to attend college. It would great if the organizer can invite her back for a follow-up conversation. I hope she is doing well.

Everyone is confronted with a challenge, be it physical, mental, psychological, spiritual, intellectual, monetary, verbal, sexual, emotional, social etc. Some are more severe than others. But hey, we all have to march along & learn as you go along.

What a lovely and clever girl. She had to make lots of work to be able to communicate so well. It's very interesting ehat shr's saying.

I won a National Poetry award at 15 and had it published speaking in front of over 200 people I’m an aspie, now due to excessive bullying from people all my life now I’ve lost my confidence and suffering from ptsd that I have had to leave the workforce. I’m now 37.

always remember therapy is basekly beang able to see things in a new light.
an example to that is: when I was a kid I wase wery drawn to observing many things and especialy other people.
I had spesefic forms of comunication disability and I strugled to speek in a corectly way, but I becam better afterwards, I learnd to observe and study paterns of people more deeply from my mom I then wanted to see how other people talked so I studied how they used theyr paterns celebritis paterns, saw how the presidents, youtubers, political figures talked and spoke, I then noticed that when I moved down deeper in the comunication paterns I noticed my own paterns began to be more sharpened and refined and began to becom more like a political talker than normal and my family noticed that I was good at talking, almost to good, the reson for that was I talked to mutch and everyone arond me got tired of me, that is why I becom so good at it. keep one praticing people.

Thank y'all so much for sharing your perspectives. Hearing others speak has been really helpful in identifying traits in myself that have convinced me that it's time to get tested. I never realized I could possibly have aspergers until new data was studied and many more people began sharing their experiences. With more exposure to information like this, I'm finding many resources that are helping me with issues I've struggled with my whole life but never realized there was already so much support for.

In a 1990 case against the Missouri dept of health we have the right to refuse medical diagnosis. Missouri dept of health is to be considered a criminal organization

Untraumatized, privileged girl, good for her, but painful to listen to, - it makes me aware of all personal development andself-actualization i have missed, not being supported, stimulated, regulated, challenged, encouraged, empowered and promoted.

This was great. I'm wired up like her. Except my moral compass got messed up from addictions mostly brought about because I went undiagnosed for close to 4 decades. Lot's and lots of trauma, frustration, confusion and heartbreak. Look out for the younger generation so they can get their needs family had their heads in the sand.

I have Aspergers, and had occupational therapy whenI was 6. I didn’t really have many accommodations, but I tend to take tests in a separate environment
