i think this is very relevant for psychological flow and gaming

imo a game's success is determined a lot by how quickly players can get into "autopilot mode" (low skill floor)

thats why sc2 isnt as successful as mobas...it requires a lot of prior knowledge and experience to fall in love with
on the other hand more silly games' mechanics like LoL's and counterstrike's one get easily get hooked because pretty much all you need to know to be somewhat successful can be learned within literally 1 minute

More important that improving autopilot mode is learning to be aware of it, relax and let it do its thing when it's ready. A lot of stress comes from compulsive thinking when system is actually ready to perform.

Reading the comments I doubt most people understand this video. When I was working on visual effects, I distracted my "left brain" ie, that verbal part by listening to talk radio and allowed my creative brain to work on the shot.
It was able to work quickly and efficiently. And before some smart alec assume I did subpar wotk, those projects won Emmy Awards.
