Just 2 weeks ago I deleted saved to watch videos on YouTube and unsubscribed to everyone. I also put several things out of sight. They were all things that someone had told me were good for me. Things like books, journals and sticky note affirmations. Once I removed all of these things, I remembered that I know how to take care of myself. I went from being paralysed, doing nothing, to doing things I want and need to do. It’s amazing how I became overwhelmed with all the “things that are good for me”. Thankfully I’m well past that now.

It depends on our personality. Some people have the opposite issue, they know what they want and need but if it is too different from what society want them to want then they feel not allowed to want what they want. So they numb themselves to avoid feeling the pain of not getting what they want.

Some of what numbs the internal, was our parents, families, authority figures, and societal programming from a young age....
We may not already be the ones who numbed it, but we still have to be the ones who feel again...
It's not easy, but it's necessary

I seem to do well at putting my personal goals aside from the worlds influence. But I'm still being driven around by not having enough time or energy to spare for myself.

The world as it is screws us all in every way it can.

Extrinsic motivation is what society tells us we should do or would be good at bc of how others see us (this can always be changed when you work on finding your *intrinsic* or *internal* motivations! so…)

What are you internally motivated to do & remember money is not involved here.

Exactly me right this moment. Need Change Now. But listening to this will be me listening on auto pilot so instead I will go cold turkey and listen to myself and decide then on what to do. Thanks ❤

Me forcing myself to have cold showers, lift, run and meditate in early morning light, all while avoiding coffee and counting macros.
I'm a middle aged woman and need to slow down on the bro-science podcasts because I'm in danger of becoming weirdly ripped and supplements obsessed 😂
