Communist regimes have this doctrine of sort that "mass shootings and serial murders happen only in the capitalist West". This caused huge issues in Soviet Union, for example, when genuine criminal investigators needed to investigat actual mass murder cases. HBO had a great movie about this: "Citizen X".

My son is visiting his Chinese grandparents right now and he thought there was a solar incident and that's why the media blackout! And he's pretty tech savvy and not easily deceived. I just passed on this update to him.

Mexico has MAJOR cartel problems. Thats why Mexico struggles to grow. Becuase once an Is entrepreneur becomes successful, the cartels take it over by force. Avocado famrs are the most known example. Bananas in South America.

While not confirmed I had a thought that disgruntled SWAT officer managed to get into armory (likely unguarded) and armed himself before committing the shooting.

This kind of things happens a lot, lot more often in china, this is just one coverup that wasn't fast enough. Especially before the widespread surveilance and mass internet adoption before 2010s, these kinds of things were monthly or even weekly occurences.
