Managing the Perioperative Pathway - UHNM Automated Weight Management Referrals

Our July 2024 PKB User Group showcased how PKB provides an all-in-one solution to drive efficiencies and enhance the patient’s experience across the Perioperative Pathway, from referral to discharge.

Three NHS customers shared examples of how they are using PKB to support specific stages. In our first film here, Andrew Fraser, Head of Business Intelligence at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust presents how the Trust used PKB to implement automated weight management referrals.

In 2023 the Trust pioneered using our questionnaires to automate patient referrals to the NHS Digital Weight Management Programme. One year on, Andrew explains the design and implementation process. He shares how to date the automated approach has enabled UHNM to avoid 136 days of staff administrative time while supporting patients with an efficient, speedy referral process.
