I have a ton of documentation in my medical record from in-service for knee issues. I was rated at a 0% for patellofemoral syndrome. I have been out 14 years, and just realized now that I can file for increases/secondaries. In 2017, I was climbing out of the back of a uhaul and my service connected knee gave out. In my attempt to catch myself, my opposite knee twisted and I tore my meniscus. Now I have constant pain in both knees around a 3/10 most days, with up to a 7/10 if I over do it. I also have constant instability issues, especially if I try to do anything on one foot (example, lifting my leg in the shower to wash my foot). I've requested an ortho consult through my VA PCP. Placed an ITF last month, and plan on going for a rating increase on my left knee for ROM and instability, right knee secondary to left knee for ROM and instability, and also right side sciatic pain secondary to knee injuries.

I'm so thankful I've found this content, I spent way too much time thinking I just had to suffer until I eventually needed a knee replacement.

Helpful information, as I have service connected 10% on both knees and a scope was done that confirmed I have torn meniscus in both knees.

The VA just needs to be transparent and openly informing for all vets. We shouldn't have to play guessing words.

Jordan,
hello and how are you doing? I just wanted to pass on an update to you about your fantastic course. I signed up and took your course July 2024, after going through all courses, great instructions and the outstanding call with one of your assistants. I submitted my PTSD claim to VA August 21, 2024. I just received my rating of 70%. That rating put me at 100 P&T.
thank you again D

My left knee got 10% for range of movement and then 10% for instability.

I was pretty surprised it was two SEPERATE ratings.

Funny part is when the c and p examiner said he felt instability I laughed inside and thought he was crazy. My knee had never really given me problems instability wise

Two years later I started have stability issues going up and down stairs. 4 years later I was using a cane

Pretty interesting that he found it before I did lol

It took me a total knee replacement to go from 10% to 30%. You won’t get any higher than 10% unless you have some serious mobility issues to where you can hardly walk at all.

3 ratings for 1 knee. Flexion, extension and instability right?

I'm an old paratrooper. Went In for my c&p knee exam on appeal (3rd exam) yesterday, gave the doc my statement, he asked me some questions then had me lay on the table. He put the goiniometer against the side of my knee and he started to bend my leg back and forth. I told him that hurts, he said relax your leg, I said I cant it's stiff! He stopped and had me sign a piece of paper saying he used a goiniometer. That was it the only measurement taken was him trying to move my leg back and forth.

regarding knees… How about if you were stationed board ships? I.e. medical evidence supports that continual climbing up and down ladders and walking on steel decks does cause many knee issues… could that be considered presumptive ⁉️💁🏼‍♂️

and from what I understand, there are basically three components to the knees: range of motion, stability, and pain … yes pain that is a new one ‼️

Of all the videos I've watched this one is the most concise direct information I've seen, but one thing I haven't seen any of these videos is for somebody to talk about a C & P exam for somebody who's trying to get their already service connected disability rating higher. I've got a service connection disability In my knee patella femoral syndrome, and it has got worse with arthritis. What's the process for that, and how to know if my exam went well. He asked a few questions i answered per how i should with no sugar coatng my pain and flexibility... But I was only there for maybe 15 min. It seemed rushed, but at the same time i felt he did what he knew was supposed to be done. I am confused if it went well or not.

Thank you very much💙

Thanks for the info. Is a diagnosis of arthritis in the knee the same as knee pain? Or is knee pain a specific diagnosis code?

I have 10 percent on each knee. I had a knee scope on one of them. But pain always in my ankles and Achilles. I was airborne on jump status along with Air Assault and combat tours. Should I go for more than just the two knees with no rating on my ankles and Achilles?

Have you ever done a video on the long term effects of jumping out of planes for VA benefits?
