I have had both knees replaced during my 12 years in the Navy. I now have neuropathy in both feet. I have a hard time sleeping at night from my nerves in my feet. This is far more pain than my other injuries. I need relief from pain in my feet. I already have a 60 % rating.

Great info about the subject. That's where it begins with most veterans as myself....it's all about flexion and extension with the % rate.

Thank you for putting this information out there. A lot good info. I will say this is one video that covers a lot of my issues. Both knees, Arthritis, instability, bone on bone, server pain, secondary condition pain in hips do to Knees and flare ups are the worst.

Interesting. I was rated for two knee problems...11 years later I have a knee replacement. I will update All with a VA update. 10 months after the knee replacement, I learn about convalescent ratings. I will submit a claim this week.

I had a C&P exam last week. Had to hire a friend of mine from Church to drive me that far, 1 1/2 hours, to the exam. I have 5 service connected disabilities, and have had 4 major open operations on my right knee in the last 5-6 years. Three were total knee replacements on the SAME right knee in the last 1 1/2 years. Bad infection deep inside the knee, was afraid I was going to lose my leg. Knee will never be normal again and hoping for the 60% rating plus now have to wear a full leg brace for weakness and pain. Hoping for the best. Great video, thanks.

I have pretty much full range of motion, but with pain. I dread standing up or sitting down. When I claim for flexion/extension is the measument for how far I can move or how far I can move without pain

I think I got my total and permanent rating because of what happened with me because there was so much documentation and reality and what actually happened back then when I was a service member of the army I'm not looking for a handout I'm just trying to go back to work to make feel like I'm part of something other than sitting home and feeling numb

I have no regrets for joining the military service but I think in retrospect that today I'd be making a lot much more money than I did when I was in the military and then my life would have been much differently I wouldn't have gone through divorce loss of children ugly ugly ugly situations that most people can handle and I've lost the sense of gratitude and the simplicity of beautiful things that happen in life that we don't experience in the moment but later we reflect back on like grandchildren it's been a hard row and I don't know where to turn anymore because I cannot be a hermit I cannot live this way of my life anymore I just want to get out there and be part of something bigger than me like a head back when I was in my twenties

I tried… so let me get this straight without a knee replacement, you will be evaluated on your range of motion. Which gets you 10-20%.. Thanks I believe I got it. Because these are hard to watch for an instructor like myself… The Ummms was killing me… other than that great info.

I have arthritis in both knees. They both throb just sitting still. Stabbing, sharp pains just going up and down stairs / steps. Getting so bad I'm considering selling my 3" lifted truck for something stock height. Anyways, how is this pain addressed when I go to outprocess the Army when my retirement is approved?

Of you file a claim for your back and go to the C&P, if you discuss secondary issues like radiculapathy, will the VA rate you in the secondary or only the issue that you files a claim for?

I’m curious about TKA revisions, and if they’re rated. I had a LTKA in 7/2021, and a revision on 1/5/2023. The Surgeon found not only a lot of scar tissue, but also Polyethylene wear. Is this ratable?
