Catholic Answers Apologist Joe Heschmeyer joins Keith to discuss his new book "The Early Church was the Catholic Church". This fascinating conversation deal with the misconception many people have that the earliest Christians looked more like modern-day baptists, rather than Roman Catholics.
What does the evidence show and why does it matter for us today? Don't miss this.

Hi Keith, I became Catholic Saturday night. Thanks for your conversion story, it helped get me started on my journey!

At the age of 24, I left Islam and now as 28 years old have spent the past four years as an agnostic. However, I hold deep respect and admiration for Christians and feel drawn to exploring Catholicism further. I hope to find truth and meaning in this journey❤😊

18:32 "The idea that the Holy Spirit would lead two people to different conclusions is such a mockery of God." Bingo! And yet that is the justification for the the thousands of protestant churches cropping up everyday.

"Alot of protestants assume it's not the same because they have never looked at the evidence". Yes! It is said, "To read the church father's is to cease to be Protestant". That was my own conversion in a nutshell.

A great talk today.. I will have to get that book..As a former Anglican I always wondered about all these English Church of England Churches I visited for Services . They have the Saints Name some of which are local Saints names who came here to Britain to convert people in the early Catholic period 1000 years Pre reformation. I have seen them with the Appostles Creed Displayed, even little Nods to Mary with a Small Marian Figurine, they have Biblical Stained Glass. A lot of these Churches are Pre Reformation such as Norman or even Saxon and I was always left thinking these used to be Catholic Churches. The Reformation stripped them of Frecoes, Saints Statues etc. But the Catholic Church is always present in the shadows of these Churches . I found my faith came fully alive when I prayed the Rosary and intercession of the Saints that's why I became Catholic because God called me there

Powerful is an understatement, it’s such a shame we need to defend our place in history, but what you have shared can restore our passion for the truth and living it.

James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

This is mind blowing. Real good stuff Keith. As a cradle Catholic who once converted to Pentecostal, I could relate much to it. That conversion to a protestant church motivated me to research and know more about the Catholic Church. Eventually, I returned home to the Catholic faith with more knowledge and reverence to the one true Church that our Lord Jesus established through St. Peter, the rock. God bless you.

I've read Joe Heschmeyer's "Pope Peter" and "The Early Church Was the Catholic Church" and recommend them both highly. @48:14 in this video, Joe mentions that the "Church Fathers have a lot they can teach us." My favorite resource on the Church Fathers is Fr. William A. Jurgens' three-volume set "The Faith of the Early Fathers" which gathers selections from the writings of so many of the Church Fathers and other early Christians authors such as Tertullian (ca 155/160 - ca 240/250 AD). Tertullian's works, according to Fr. Jurgens, can be divided into three fairly distinct periods: a Catholic period, a semi-Montanist period, and a Montanist period. Fr. Jurgens includes even a few selections from gnostic writers to show what the Church was sometimes fighting in the words of the heretics themselves. Fr. Jurgens provides wonderful introductory biographies of the authors and introductory notes of the writings. For example, in his introductory biography of St. Irenaeus (ca 140 - ca 202 AD) who was born in Asia Minor, we find: "His passage to Gaul, where we meet him as an esteemed presbyter of the Church of Lyons immediately before the death of his episcopal predecessor, is one of history's mysteries. To exchange figs for frogs is incredible." And there is a very useful doctrinal index in the back of each volume linking doctrines to relevant passages in the selected writings.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

I really feel sorry for Protestants who are living and the dead who have not received Jesus Christ through the Eucharist. This opportunity was stolen from them by Martin Luther.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is FOOLISHNESS to those who are perishing but to us who are being SAVED it is the Power of God.( The message of the cross is CRUCIFIXION, RESURRECTION and REDEEMPTION.)
