El Pretérito Vs. El Imperfecto might be one of the first headaches Spanish students get. English doesn’t split the past into two and doing so can... well... hurt. So you won’t need any more Advil, here’s my best take on how to differentiate and familiarize yourself with what is it that separates one from the other. Let’s do this!

Another excellent video, thanks Maura! I was confused by the quiz answer #3, but I see below that you have clarified.

Te equivocaste en numero 3, ¿no? La respuesta correcta debería ser "Fui"... ¿O no?

Muchas gracias!

¡Gracias, Maura! Definitivamente he mejorado con pretérito versus imperfecto, pero todavía me tropiezo a veces 😊.

Buen video. Dices que se usa el imperfecto cuando ¨what you say isn´t true anymore¨, but just like it is still true that you called him, it is still true that ¨no había cupo¨. Or if I say, ¨Cuando me desperté esta mañana, hacía sol¨, tal vez todavía haga sol.
