let him rot in his protective jail, and just throw away the key. Or, better yet, let him out in General Public prison.

He got what he wanted. His name, face, actions tied in history with John Lennon. So sad.

I was 10 years old and I will never forget hearing all of the Beatles songs on the radio on the morning after he was assassinated . I also remember the National Inquirer publishing a picture of him after he passed away.

And 11 years later we were robbed of another legend when we lost Freddie Mercury.

Interesting that this creep was in Georgia in about 1965 (age 10) when people down south were burning Beatles records.

if this Freak were to ever be released, he'll have to contend with "Fame Hungry" Lennon Avengers.

Tragic and senseless. I read that John had fired his security guard a couple of weeks previously due to an argument.

How sad that John Lennon felt he was safe in New York he could be himself there. Unlike here in the UK he could walk the street without hordes of fans running after him. And yet it was a bogus fan who shot him dead. John even gave him his signature. And he repaid him by taking his life. So So sad the world lost a great musician a wife lost her husband his sons lost their father. I said bogus because no real fan would have killed him.
RIP John singing with the Angels 😇

Everyone knows John Lennon still. Although I know Chapman’s name now, I’ll forget it while Lennon will live on. May his murderer never get out!

The Catcher in the Rye is a novel that has been linked to two assassination attempts. Mark David Chapman was reading the book when he assassinated John Lennon in 1980. John W. Hinckley, Jr. attempted to assassinate U.S. President Ronald Reagan in 1981 and was found to have a copy of the book in his possession. In the novel, the protagonist Holden imagines that he has been shot and pictures murdering someone with an automatic pistol.

I had just moved to nyc when this happened and went to the memorial in Central Park, it was so deeply saddening and tragic. We had a moment of silence in the cold dark night in the park and then they had piped Imagine on speakers into the area and we all left stood there, thousands of us. Silently we left and I will never forget it.
