What’s a hub or whatever you said about the light bulb

Not sure, if I were to buy one probably the plug. However the more we add to our network the more speed we need or the slower it will run. Eventually the smart will cost us a lot more due to the network providers will start charging much more, or by the usage. Something like AT&T cellular, your normal plan or for $40 more you can be guaranteed the highest cellular performance and guaranteed the best connect all the time, anytime and the last to go down if an emergency.

Do you need smart bulbs if you have the smart plug?

Theses smart devices are toxic for the home wifi router. Every time power is cut to these devices or whenever it does a firmware update, it would request a new IP from the router. Depending on how many of these devices you have, it could reek havoc on your wifi network. Least affected by this is the wall switch, then the wall plug, last is the light bulb. The light bulb is toxic for wifi when there are many. This means, you would have to learn to set up a DHCP range and properly reserve IP for each of these device. Static IP for the devices are not an option--its rare that a IoT device allows static IP... not even Amazon Echo. Gamers will notice in lag as they cannot buffer data transmission. Web surfing may notice this as you notice random delays. Video streaming wont notice this as much as there is buffering. I have 20+ of these wall switches, I was experiencing this lag using a $400 router till I finally configured my router. You'll also notice DNS issues with these smart devices. The name is generic and the same.. this causes conflicts in the DNS table, which also contributes to lag....
