Former Auschwitz guard goes on trial in Germany
Показать описание
A former SS guard at the Auschwitz concentration camp goes on trial in Germany, charged with complicity in the murder of 300,000 Holocaust victims.
Oskar Gröning, 93, known as 'the accountant of Auschwitz', used a walking frame to get to his seat in the courtroom in Lüneburg, north Germany. Gröning confiscated luggage of prisoners arriving at the Nazi death camp and says he is not guilty of harming any inmates. Auschwitz survivor Hedy Bohm, whose parents died, said she was attending the hearing 'so that people would never be able to plead they were just a cog in the machinery'.
