Releasing the gearbox from an Evo or VR4.

A short video on how to release the clutch from your gearbox on an Evo or VR4. I went into fairly close detail on how the throwout bearing is locked into the clutch pressure plate via the "collar" and how exactly the mechnanism works. Next time you're under your car cussing out the gearbox, hopefully this video will let you know what's going on and help you out!

Extremely helpful. 100% recommend getting an ACT Monoloc collar if doing a clutch change. I have just had the standard 2 piece collar that comes in the Exedy Heavy duty kit break. This means gearbox out again job. Definitely worth the cost to avoid doing the job all over again and being stranded.

i bought used exedy twin plate clutch without this collar piece.. windering can i use stock clutch collar move into exedy?
