Swap-Cancels are Easier than You Think!

Swap-canceling is something that some players find intimidating. When you look at gameplay clips of the top quickswap teams, like those with Yinlin and Changli, it's easy to understand why. However, swap-canceling is for more than the sweatiest players: anyone can do it, on almost every team.

Ngl i love how this game manage to make swap cancel advance rotation so enjoyable, while still keep basic combo relevant at the same time. I am not going to enjoy swap cancel 24/7 even when grinding, and basic rotation gonna get old fast.
Character in this game has alot of depth and i appreciate it

The biggest tip about swap canceling is: Know why you are swap canceling, and not just because it's a rotation you memorized. Not all swap cancels are created equal. Some will gain you 5% more damage, some less than 1%, and if you swap cancel to the point of losing damage, it's time to touch some grass.

Honestly, , , Changli was the one who finally convinced me to get into swap-canceling. I skipped Yinlin and only had Jiyan/Mortefi so there wasn't really any use for me to get into it.

It's really fun once you get used to it though! And honestly, I have to applaud WuWa for allowing so many different play styles into their game :0

swap cancelling also maximises your dps, one of my favourite quick swap teams is havoc rover + danjin. Double dreamless quickswap is amazing

I just love the constant reminders that I was right about double main dps quick swaps being a viable thing.

I came from Genshin, so I'm used to teams like National, Ayaka freeze, Arle/Tao vapes, etc. where it's very distinct rotations. Characters use abilities in order 1-4, repeat. It can play very much the same with teams like Verina, Mortefi, Jiyan or Jianxin, Yinlin, Calcharo.

Double main dps quick swap teams however, feels more akin to perfectly braiding two things together that don't necessarily synergize well, but their respective cooldowns and animation cancels allow them to be woven together seamlessly so you're always dealing damage. Not just trying to optimize buff timers from outro skills.

Jiyan's optimisation is really rewarding cause if you fk up, your jiyan's burst wont be filled in time and then you loose precious seconds and that becomes the difference between 2 and 3 stars

Contrary to many beliefs, swap-canceling does not make outro buff useless. It just take the chill element of "outro and simply mash" away.

You now instead have to time the outro swap right into the most damaging part of your character's rotation instead of let it run. (For example, outro with Taoqi right into 3 stacks Changli to get final stack and Forte right away).

It is a much more engaging style than normal and need some getting used to, but it is indeed very fun.

Swap cancel is actually really fun once you get comfortable with ui position if you're playing on mobile. But what I hate about it is
1. the fact that it makes the outro buff useless.
2. Some characters start mid air where you can't dodge.
3. Some characters attacking mid air instead of doing a plunge to cancel it.
4. Plus the fact that you're not just fighting against an enemy when playing wuwa. You're also fighting against the camera.

The camera orientation is actually the end game along the way. 💀

I don't like swap cancels and that aspect of this game makes me feel like the game isn't for me, I play on phone, I'm waiting for it to come out in ps5, I'm doing only dailies and a couple of events and I hope that once I start playing seriously I can build my characters, but if the game requires swap cancels too much, if my damage ends up being not enough because of that and I can't clear tower of adversity because of that, it'll feel like shit
