Do you go through a running analysis as part of your ACL rehab? Shock absorption is a vital part of ACL rehab, especially as it relates to running. A lack of shock absorption can increase the wear and tear of your knee joint and lead to arthritic changes. It's essential to get enough bend at the knee and hip to absorb loading forces at your "active" muscular system versus loading at the knee joint.

This often goes overlooked in ACL rehab but is a key part in making an optimal recovery that will protect your knee long-term. Check out this video to see exactly what a lack of shock absorption looks like.

Hey question, I am a little over a year, post acl surgery and meniscus repair, and I feel as if I am encountering the same problem. My good leg feels more of the load on my quad when I run than on my operative leg, is it because of a weak quad or because I need more shock absorption work? What are some good shock absorption exercises i could do?
