Ironically, the non-canon transformation was the most Saiyan like. It was genius.

Super Saiyan 4 used to be referred to as the true Super Saiyan. The Super Saiyan of legend could only achieve the form in their transformed state. That combined with the golden super saiyan form seemingly having stages (which makes no sense) it seems likely that Super Saiyan 4 is the true super saiyan form and the Golden Transformations were something else entirely.

to this day ssj4 remains as my favorite super saiyan form not only because it looks cool as f but also because of the homage it pays to the saiyan lineage by actually giving the oozaru form a reason to be viable again (even if its not cannon). I also love the fact the ssj4 made goku a really cold mfck compared to how mercifull he was or z or how they butchered goku by making him stupid in most of super gt ssj4 goku actually got down to business and looked like a total badass while doing it and thats something i will always appriciate this form for (and gt for)
