The '71-'72 Chargers were AWESOME! The BEST LOOKING CARS OUT THERE, PLUS THEY HAD QUALITY CHRYSLER ENGINEERING BACK THEN!

The Dodge Charger is obviously the best looking of those three. Obviously.

I just found this, and am profoundly saddened that Dodge didn't even consider the AMC Matador worthy of mention. 😅

The 1968 through 1970 Charger was much more beautiful than the newer “Coke bottle” design they came out with in 1971.

This is a dealer information presentation. The idea is to help the dealer sell the automobile. The automobile the dealer will be selling is the Charger automobile. The Charger was produced by the Dodge Division of the Chrysler Motor Corporation. Charger was put on the map by the blockbuster television sitcom entitled, “The Dukes of Hazzard.” The show featured two fast driving country brothers who lived with a grandfather and an attractive sister. The trio of young siblings was constantly getting crossways with a shifty fat Sheriff named, “Boss Hogg.” This CBS show was not particularly intellectually challenging but it was funny and popular. The Confederate Flag painted on the roof of the car would have been cancelled today because rich woke white suburbanites have learned to take their marching orders from the New York Times and the mainstream media. So the more of these Charger automobiles this filmstrip helps the dealer sell, the more money the dealer will make. For the active, hard-charging young salesman the sky is the limit. He will make lots of money and thus avoid getting chewed out by the general manager of the dealership in the back room.

The Charger by far the best looking car. The Torino & are very good looking cars too.

This car was designed specifically for NASCAR stock car racing. That Coke bottle shape, long nose, high trunk, and odd windows were made for a car which could exceed 200 mph on the straights in Talladega and Daytona. In those days stock cars raced on the track had to be cars which people could actually buy. Chrysler sold cars with the 426 hemi because to run it on the track, it had to be sold to the public. Believe it or not, these 1971 Chargers and their cousins the Roadrunners were much faster on the tracks than modern stock cars today. Nowadays there is no such thing as "stock car" racing in NASCAR. Try to get a 355 ci V8 rear wheel drive Impala, Camry, or Fusion. The only thing stock in a stock car today is the roof panel and rear window.

The Torino 500 was renamed Gran Torino from 1972 to 1977, when Torino was renamed LTD II.

The 71' Charger 318 I had refused to get stuck in the winter, it drove through stuff that amazed the people riding with me.

Did we look like that in the 70's? Yep. Wish I had my 70's hair back. Lol.

Ash trays have higher capacity between emptyings, and lighter is hidden. You will also notice charger 1/4 window provides privacy for backseat passengers when consuming the devil's lettuce.

Dang, the Torino is really bad! Can't believe that the gas tank is the floor in the trunk. Plus all the other cheap points of the Ford.

The Charger is the best all around car here, but I think the Chevelle wins in the long run as history has presented and it would be my choice back then too. Just throw the good looking lady from the film in the passenger seat and I am happy. 😊
