When I was 10 and my brother 7 in 1961 our parents took us there. It was awe inspiring to two boys who ran all around and tried to get all the places we weren't supposed to go. Broke my heart that it burned down.

A testament to man’s excess and destructiveness. Those trees survived hundreds of years from the attacks of storms, fires and disease only to be felled by the ambitions of man. If visiting one of the few remaining old growth forests in N. America isn’t on your bucket list it should be. Only when you see these trees in person do you understand how precious they are and why we need to protect them.

My stepfather took me there when I was a little kid, 8 or 9, before it burned down. It was unbelievable. Electrical wiring was so primitive back then and building codes were the opposite of today's overkill.

The Todaiji temple, "Eastern Great Temple" was bigger than both this cabin and Montébello Château, but these are without doubt the largest logs ever used in this type of cabin!

I think the US should stop using the term 'biggest' 'in the World etc. Coz usually thats not always correct. There are massive buildings built only of wood in Europe that are multi storied high etc.

In terms of size of the logs, this log house seems to have larger logs than those of Montebello Chateau . Could it be put in as the log house with the largest logs ? Anyway thanks for the information.

Those billionaires that keep telling us to eat bugs and not meat should but a hardwood forest and let it stand uncut for hundreds of years just so we can all see how big tree's get.
