In Canon, Vader's injuries and cybernetics amplified his power, and he eventually did surpass Palpatine. But even with this, Palpatine always did well to maintain his superiority over Vader, always making sure he wss three moves ahead and then some.

Further proof Bane’s plan for the Sith was an epic fail. Sure, they became more cunning but after Bane, Sith Masters would refrain from teaching their apprentices everything they knew out of fear of being over thrown. This caused each new Master to be more cunning but weaker than their masters. Bane would have 1v5, and mopped the floor with, Palpatine and his 4 predecessors.

I feel like if Vader fully embraced the Dark Side and planned accordingly he could have overthrown him despite his limitations Palpatine was more powerful but his overconfidence and arrogance was a huge weakness it’s always led to him being defeated every time

Lol, its not like Vader single handedly beat palpatine in episode 6 or anything lmao. Btw no palpatine and luke NVR fought, the closest was when luke tried to initially strike palpatine on his throne
